Go Chic Mind-blowing Dance/Pop/Punk/Electro aus Taiwan
Go Chic wurde 2007 von Sonia Lai (賴思勻), Ariel Zheng (鄭思齊) und Sarah Wen (溫一珊) in Taipei (Taiwan) gegründet. In der Zwischenzeit haben sie sich als eine der innovativsten Dance / Pop / Punk / Electro Bands in Asien einen Namen gemacht und mit ihren bunten Strumpfhosen und kurzen Röcken die heimische Szene ordentlich aufgemischt. Der Spaß an der Sache steht im Vordergrund, und auch wenn zwischen den Songs viel gelacht und Blödsinn gemacht wird, wissen die Mädchen ganz genau wie sie mit ihrem catchy Electro Sound die Massen zum Tanzen bringen. Kein Wunder also, dass Go Chic vor kurzem von Nike zu den 10 besten taiwanesischen Live-Bands gewählt wurden und bei der Nike Sportswear Night aufspielen durften. Kurz darauf wurden sie auch zum SXSW Festival 2010 nach Austin, Texas, eingeladen.
Seit ihrer Gründung spielten Go Chic bereits mit Acts wie Peaches (CA), Vicarious Bliss (Ed Banger, FR), Dandi Wind (CA), Shitdisco (Dim Mak, UK), Death Is Not My Aim (JP) uvm. Momentan geben sie regelmäßig Club-Gigs in Taiwan und sind Stammgast bei zahlreichen Festivals.
In diesem Jahr wurden Go Chic gleich in drei Kategorien für den Asia Pacific VOICE Independent Music Award (AVIMA) nominiert: Best Pop Song, Best Electro/Dance Song sowie Most Mind-blowing Music Video.
Im März 2010 erschien ihr selbst produziertes Indie-Debüt „I am Confused!“ in Taiwan. Momentan befinden sich Go Chic noch auf der Suche nach dem passenden Oversea-Label.
Wer sich noch immer nichts vorstellen kann, dem sei folgende Sound-Beschreibung gegeben: Go Chic klingen wie Chicks on Speed, Le Tigre, CSS, The Peaches und die weibliche Ausgabe von The Teenagers. Mittlerweile haben sie von ihrem Publikum auch den Spitznamen “the Karen O in Taiwan” verpasst bekommen.

Camille Yarbrough is an American musician, actress, poet, activist, television producer and author. She is perhaps best known for "Take Yo’ Praise", which Fatboy Slim sampled from in his track "Praise You" in 1998. "Take Yo Praise" was originally recorded in 1975 for Camille Yarbrough’s first and only album The Iron Pot Cooker[1], released on Vanguard Records. The album was based on the 1971 stage dramatization of Yarbrough’s one-woman/spoken word show: Tales and Tunes of an African American Griot which she toured nationally during the 1970s and 1980s. She is also the Author of a children's book "Cornrows"

Go Chic! Elektro Pop from Taiwan - Supportband of incredible PEACHES in Taitpei

Go Chic Mind-blowing Dance/Pop/Punk/Electro aus Taiwan
Go Chic wurde 2007 von Sonia Lai (賴思勻), Ariel Zheng (鄭思齊) und Sarah Wen (溫一珊) in Taipei (Taiwan) gegründet. In der Zwischenzeit haben sie sich als eine der innovativsten Dance / Pop / Punk / Electro Bands in Asien einen Namen gemacht und mit ihren bunten Strumpfhosen und kurzen Röcken die heimische Szene ordentlich aufgemischt. Der Spaß an der Sache steht im Vordergrund, und auch wenn zwischen den Songs viel gelacht und Blödsinn gemacht wird, wissen die Mädchen ganz genau wie sie mit ihrem catchy Electro Sound die Massen zum Tanzen bringen. Kein Wunder also, dass Go Chic vor kurzem von Nike zu den 10 besten taiwanesischen Live-Bands gewählt wurden und bei der Nike Sportswear Night aufspielen durften. Kurz darauf wurden sie auch zum SXSW Festival 2010 nach Austin, Texas, eingeladen.
Seit ihrer Gründung spielten Go Chic bereits mit Acts wie Peaches (CA), Vicarious Bliss (Ed Banger, FR), Dandi Wind (CA), Shitdisco (Dim Mak, UK), Death Is Not My Aim (JP) uvm. Momentan geben sie regelmäßig Club-Gigs in Taiwan und sind Stammgast bei zahlreichen Festivals.
In diesem Jahr wurden Go Chic gleich in drei Kategorien für den Asia Pacific VOICE Independent Music Award (AVIMA) nominiert: Best Pop Song, Best Electro/Dance Song sowie Most Mind-blowing Music Video.
Im März 2010 erschien ihr selbst produziertes Indie-Debüt „I am Confused!“ in Taiwan. Momentan befinden sich Go Chic noch auf der Suche nach dem passenden Oversea-Label.
Wer sich noch immer nichts vorstellen kann, dem sei folgende Sound-Beschreibung gegeben: Go Chic klingen wie Chicks on Speed, Le Tigre, CSS, The Peaches und die weibliche Ausgabe von The Teenagers. Mittlerweile haben sie von ihrem Publikum auch den Spitznamen “the Karen O in Taiwan” verpasst bekommen.
