jackson pollock

You won´t understand Pollock unless you listen to his words.
1)he wants to be "in" the thing
2)he wants a large canvas
3)he wants to express, not to illustrate his emotions
4)his art is about spontaneous actions without intentions as opposed to a neatly organised and structured, inhibited bourgois middle-class capitalist culture in which people always have goals and aspirations
Note: The Beat Generation saw its solution in climbing down the social ladder to emrace a more vivid folk culture.
